Peer Recovery Support Services

  • One-on-one peer coaching or mentoring
  • Service coordination (legal, employment, child care, etc.)
  • Weekly in-person and virtual 12-Step Recovery groups
  • Referral services for unmet needs (housing, GED, vocational training, etc.)
  • Transportation services (medical, groceries, pharmacy)
  • Telephone Recovery Support (weekly check-ins)

Informational Support

  • provision of health and wellness information, educational assistance, and help in acquiring new skills, ranging from life skills to employment readiness and citizenship restoration (e.g., voting rights, driver’s license).

Affiliation Support

  • An opportunity to establish positive social connections with others in recovery so as to learn social and recreational skills in an alcohol- and drug-free environment.



Emotional Support

  • At the Willie Carter Outreach Center, we believe that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. If you’re in need of emotional support, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we can work towards a brighter, healthier tomorrow.

Instrumental Support

  • Concrete assistance in task accomplishment, especially with stressful or unpleasant tasks (e.g., filling out applications, obtaining public benefits) or providing supports such as child care, transportation to support group meetings, and clothing closets.

Recovery Coach Academy

  • Our Recovery Coach Academy provides training and certification for individuals looking to become Peer Recovery Coaches. These peer leaders are empowered to guide and support others on their recovery journey. [Details and course breakdown coming soon.]
